Onur Calling
2021 | Documentary, LGBTQIA | 37 min | BA Film
Directed by Annik Faivre
Collection: Degree Films 2021
The filmmaker shouldered the camera to accompany her friend Onur, drag queen and thousand sassa from Istanbul, to the LGBTQ+ Prides in Zurich and Istanbul.
These two events couldn’t hardly be more different, despite of having the same origin. (Stonewall Protests 1969)
While the LGBTQ+ community in Istanbul has to fight oppression and repression, the Pride in Zurich is characterized by banks, multinational companies and pinkwashing.
Onur shifts between these two worlds and faces the power of politics, protest and capitalism.
