Mary, a nurse, lives with her colleague Sherly and Sister Eunice, a nun, in a shared apartment. The three South Indian women share a sisterly bond, exchanging daily stories of their day and their homeland.

One day, Mary receives a letter from her parents, informing her that they’ve found a husband for her. Soon after, Mary and Sherly are invited to a Christmas party, where Mary meets the charming Edi.

She spends the evening with him, letting herself embrace the feelings that arise, even though she knows her future lies elsewhere.
