Kim Allamand was born in Lucerne, Switzerland. He holds a master's degree in film directing from Zurich University of the Arts. His 2022 fiction short film HEART FRUIT had its world premiere in Locarno, its international premiere in San Sebastian and was part of the Future Frames program in Karlovy Vary in 2023. HEART FRUIT won, among others, the German Film Critics Award at Filmfest Dresden. His 2019 fiction short film TERMINAL had its world premiere in Locarno where it won the Best Swiss Newcomer Award & the Youth Jury Award. Followed by numerous screenings and awards at festivals such as, Zinebi Bibao, Dokufest Prizren, Winterthurer Kurzfilmtage and an online premiere on shortsoftheweek. Currently he is writing with Michael Karrer on his first feature film project, funded by the Zurich Film Foundation. Works and lives in Zurich.
