Julia Furer grew up in Burgistein, BE. After various activities as a photographer and internships in film, she completed the design course at the F+F, School of Art and Media Design, in Zurich in 2011. In 2012 she studied video at the Lucerne School of Art and Design. She completed her bachelor's degree with distinction and received the sponsorship award of the zeugindesign foundation for her graduation film in 2015. The film has since been awarded various prizes and was shown at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2016, among others. This was followed by an editing internship at PiXiU Films in Zurich and work as a freelance sound woman and editor. From 2016 on she completed her Film Master at the Zurich University of the Arts during four years in the specialization "Realisation Documentary Film". During this time she realized her first feature-length documentary film "LOVE WILL COME LATER".
