Ivona Brdjanovic moved with her mother from Yugoslavia to Zurich in 1991 because of the Bosnian war. After her Matura, she first studied environmental engineering. Then, in 2015, she completed a bachelor's degree in literary writing at the Swiss Literature Institute. In her texts, she mainly focuses on migrant and queerfeminist topics. As an essayist and journalist, she publishes texts in NZZ, WOZ, Fabrikzeitung and many other magazines. She is co-editor of the first and only queer literary magazine Glitter.
