Niccolò Castelli

Born in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1982, Niccolò Castelli began working in 1998 as a radio host for the Swiss Radio and Television broadcaster (RSI). Between 2001 and 2006 he made a number of short films, TV reports and music videos. He is member of the ipotesICinema project, supervised by the Italian director Ermanno Olmi. After graduating in film studies at the DAMS faculty of the University of Bologna, from 2006 he attended the Master of Arts in Film at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). “Endsieg – Everything Changes in One Shot” (2008) was his graduation film. Between 2008 and 2010 he wrote and directed several short films, documentaries and music videos and in the meantime he collaborated on the production of a few feature films. In 2012 his first feature film “Tutti Giù” was premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. In the following years, he directed several documentaries for the television. He is currently in the pre-production phase of his second feature film and in the post-production process of “Looking for Sunshine”, a documentary about the Swiss ski racer Lara Gut.
