Stefania Burla initially worked in theatre for some years. In 2012-15 she studied communication and cinema studies at the University of Zurich. In 2017 she began pursuing a BFA in film at the Zurich University of the Arts, which she completed in 2022. In 2019, she spent an exchange semester in the film department at the School of Visual Arts in New York City as part of her studies.
