On the occasion of the Swiss National Day, Karin Weser, an aspiring young woman, is invited to a dinner with her boss. Karin's friend Franz Meinhard willingly accompanies her back to this formal occasion. For Karin it's about making the best possible impression of her career in the company. The evening ends catastrophically: Numerous accidents, misunderstandings and embarrassments finally lead to the fact that the two guests are thrown out by the boss and he announces the place Karin. Although Karin loses her job, she rediscovers her love for Franz.
