Anna Thommen

Master of Arts in Film 2013
Anna Thommen was born in Basel in 1980. After teaching for two years in her first profession, a primary school teacher, she decided to study film at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2005. Her graduation film «Second me» won numerous awards and was shown at more than 20 festivals around the world. For the past four years Anna Thommen has been working in parallel on two long documentary films, both of which were completed in 2013. The 60-minute documentary film «Ein Stück Wahnsinn» was co-directed by Gabriela Betschart and has already been nominated for the 2013 Basel Film Award. The 90-minute cinema documentary «Unknown Territory» is Anna Thommen‘s graduation film at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she completed her Master in Film Directing in January 2013 with a rough cut of the film.
